As a stand alone program Kodi is arguably the best for installing on you the media player. There are other options like Plex that work wonderfully but in the end nothing quite compares to the awesome power Kodi provides. As a standalone it does a pretty significant job of handling your library files (if you have them) and for someone such as myself the ability to have theme customization is an important aspect. The real genius in everything though is the ability to supercharge your install through the use of plugins and addons.
The official Kodi website has a wonderful wealth of plugins that are created and are being created daily. Most of the apps you’ll see on that site either exist in Kodi already or are accessible through the online forums.
On the other hand there are an abundance of “grey area” plugins that also work in Kodi that open up access to places that stream content that come with an assortment of questionable legality. Still in some countries it’s not illegal to stream, just to download and share copyrighted content.
But enough of the doom and gloom, let’s take a look at how to install one of Kodi’s biggest and most popular addons, Fusion.

What Is Fusion?
Fusion has been around for quite some time. What was originally the XBMC Hub soon shifted into a name change called TV ADDONS. I’m not sure what signaled the changed but the site and community themselves continue to be top notch.
A quick introduction
The Kodi Fusion addon is a plugin/repository that gives access to dozens of other plugins that are apart of the TV Addons community. With this you’ll be able to install popular addons like 1Channel, Navi-X, Genesis, and much more. The best part is the ease of use of install and updates it provides.
Of course there is always the concern the plugin will end but with such a wealthy community chances are that won’t be happening anytime soon.
Installing the Fusion Plugin
Installing Fusion is extremely simple. Follow these steps below or feel free to watch the video tutorial above.
- 1. Open Kodi and slide over to your SYSTEM menu. From the drop down go to FILE MANAGER
- 2. Inside File Manager we want to ADD SOURCE
- 3. For the path we need to type in the Fusion URL which is http://fusion.tvaddons.ag, name it something like Fusion or .Fusion (I use a period so it appears at the top of my directories)
- 4. Go back to the main Kodi menu and back to SYSTEM. This time choose SETTINGS.
- 5. Select ADD-ONS
- 6. Choose INSTALL FROM ZIP FILE
- 7. On the slide out menu we want to choose .FUSION
- 8. I typically just use the addon installer it works the best so you should too. To do this go to the “START-HERE” folder and inside select the “PLUGIN.PROGRAM.ADDONINSTALLER.1.x.x.zip (x’s are for any update changes they make, as of this writing its 1.2.0)
- 9. Let the plugin install, once it’s complete you should get a notification saying so. To start installing addons like Genesis simply browse to the PROGRAMS menu from the home screen and choose ADDON INSTALLER
That’s it.
Once Finished
Now that you’re finished the only thing left to do is start installing addons. As mentioned once you’re in the addon-installer you should be able to browse the categories but feel free to start with Featured Addons. In here you’ll find a selection of the best and most used plugins available to Kodi to get you up and running.
If there any problems feel free to drop me a question below in the comments.
fusion willnot download from internet .Can’t run cant load addons
great job
i downloaded kodi v15.1 today, after installing i tried adding fusion as per above. however, when I get to between step 3 & 4, it reports an error of unable to connect to server.
Any ideas?
If it’s giving you an error of unable to connect it’s typically because you’ve entered in the address wrong. Double check everything with your spelling and try again.
After doing the root file and getting the addons there is nothing in it. I go to programs and adorn installer and featured and its empty
@Jason it’s possible that the source timed out or something. You may need to try and restart your Kodi box. I’ve had this issue before and a simple restart fixed it for me. If that doesn’t work let me know and I’ll look into it a little more.
Thanks for the opportunity to be able to install it.
